International Veterinary Students' Association

History

The registered association IVSA Finland was founded on Monday November 30, 2009 with a board consisting of chairman Heidi Vesterinen, vice-chairman Mariella Aalto, exchange officer Hanna Telama and board members Jan Mattila and Kaisa Saarinen. The board soon also recruited Jutta Puomio to work as the event co-ordinator.

As one of the main principles of IVSA is student exchange, also IVSA Finland is working to enable its members to go abroad as easily as possible. IVSA Finland aims to organise bouth group and individual exchanges. Starting in 2010 IVSA Finland also organizes local events for the students and exchange students of the local faculty. The theme of the events will changes between trips to other parts of Finland to visit places relevant to our studies, cultural evenings, surgical sewing clubs and general discussions on current topics in veterinary medicine.
